The last national cuisine date of the year. It's been a long year, but we really loved it! After the few recipes of the USA-date, I'm also sharing our favourite recipes and the ones we've already recreated.

10 Days in Catalonia

Although we've been home for almost ten days, we are still under Spain's spell, and we experience a little bit of the post-travel blues. To cure that, I'm doing two things - planning and preparing for our upcoming travels, and look at our photos taken in Spain. Both of these activities are quite enjoyable, and the photos inspired me to write about our time in Catalonia.

The Greek Date

Did you know that I celebrated my first birthday in Greece? Because of that, I decided to prepare for the Greek date on my 22nd birthday! Again, it was easy to decide what to cook, as both of us are big fans of Greek cuisine.

Houses of Budapest's Grand Boulevard

One of my favourite events in Budapest must be Budapest100. Every year, the team works hard to find 100-year-old buildings in the inner districts, find out about their story and all the famous people who had ever lived there. For a weekend in April, most of these houses open their gates, organize something for the visitors, like games or quizes, and the BP100 team members tell them about each and every house's history.

Magic of Lake Balaton and Gluten-Free Options

Lake Balaton, without doubt, is the most popular summer destination in Hungary. It is a freshwater lake, and also the largest lake in Central Europe, popular among mostly Hungarian, Austrian and German people, as it's a nice budget destination. It's also an amazing wine region!

The Indian Date

I've finally cooked India, and there are only two more countries left! The two that I'm most excited about!
May was the month of both England and India, as I couldn't prepare any meal in April, of that you know.

Klampenborg: Sea, Amusement Park and Deers

This winter, we spent a week in Denmark, therefore we were excited to hop on a train in Copenhagen and head to the Danish suburbs. So, that's what we did! After the 30 minutes long ride, we finally got off the train in Klampenborg, and spent our whole day here.

British Countryside: A Day in Chiddingstone

There's an adorable little country village halfway between London and Royal Tunbridge Wells, right next to Hever. The oldest village of Kent, and it's described as "the most perfect surviving example of a Tudor village in the county".

The (almost) English Date

Remember when I cheated on London with Copenhagen? It seems as if I still don't treat England very well... Because of my exams and my studies, I had to postpone our English date, so I'm cooking both England and India in May. I also cheated a little bit (an other way) when I decided about what to prepare.

Our Montenegro Itinerary

In 2015, my boyfriend and I planned our very first two-week-long trip abroad, and tried our best to see something off the beaten path - and we succeeded! I've already written a few posts about our trip to Montenegro, but here is a really long post, with our itinerary, and everything you need to know about doing all this on a budget!

10 Free Things to Do in Amsterdam

We spent this last April weekend in Amsterdam (and a bit of it in Vienna, and part of it on a "Germany road trip"). As you probably know, my family and I went to Belgium, France and The Netherlands in March, and my boyfriend couldn't come with us.. so, of course, I felt like I had to show him Amsterdam, which resulted in us booking the trip!
I was very happy about doing so, as we only had so little time that it was only enough for first impressions.

Tiles of the Grand Boulevard Houses | Budapest

This past weekend, we went to the 6th Budapest100 event. As I've described in a post last year, Budapest100 takes place on an April weekend, and celebrates the 100-year-old buildings of the Hungarian capital. Since there weren't too many houses built during the WWI, this year (and the following few) will be thematic. 2016 was the year celebrating the 120-year-old Grand Boulevard!
The Grand Boulevard is one of my favourite places in Budapest (apart from Andrássy Avenue with the Kodály Circus), so I was pretty excited, eventhough I knew about everything going on behind the scenes, as an intern.
